Frequently Asked Questions
Who can refer a child to this service? Anyone can refer. We accept self-referrals from parents and caregivers, as well as referrals from educators, GPs, or Paediatricians. You do not need a medical referral to book an appointment.
Is this a free service? No, this is a private, paid service. We aim to provide high-quality specialist care directly to regional areas to reduce travel costs and wait times, but private fees apply for all consultations and assessments.
Can I use my NDIS funding? Yes, if your NDIS plan is self-managed or plan-managed, you may be able to use your funding for these assessments, provided they relate to the child's functional goals and disability requirements.
What is the "Two-Step Process"? To ensure clinical best practice, we split the journey into two parts:
Why does my child need a Cognitive (IQ) Assessment for ADHD or Learning? A Cognitive Assessment is a baseline requirement. It allows our clinicians to understand a child's unique processing profile and rule out other factors that might look like ADHD or a learning disorder, ensuring the final diagnosis is accurate.
Is there a minimum age for assessments? Yes. For ADHD and most neurodiversity assessments, children must be at least 6 years old.
